Printer fails to print over network.  Both printer and computer are on same network.  Printer is discovered easily and drivers downloaded automatically.  Occasionally will even print a test page.  But within a minute or two computer (and HP Smart app) show the printer goes to an offline offline mode.  Have seen the same symptoms on multiple different computers trying to connect via the network to the printer.  Running a wireless or network summary test directly on printer shows TCP/IP wireless status as "Ready", network properly identified and wireless network config status is "connected".  No issues seen on any reports run from the printer.   If directly connected via USB, printer works fine.

So error or offline status only shows when print jobs are in the queue.  Remove all stalled jobs from the queue and system shows "ready" and "online" again.  Send another doc to print and printer goes offline or in error mode until it is manually removed from the print queue.

Any thoughts (or better yet) solutions for this problem?

Well, seem to have fixed it myself.   At the printer LED screen, went to settings and reset printer settings to factory default.  Of course, it deleted wireless settings as well, so used the wireless wizard to get the printer back on my home network.  Tried to print and seems to work now.   Simple fix I probably should have tried earlier...but glad it worked.
