Hello, friends! My brand new multi-functional laser printer 479dw is only 7 days old!!! It really made me upset today as I diagnosed a problem with the touchscreen display. Its images lost sharpness, became blurry, the icons are pale and I see lots of tiny thin vertical lines (green) and one big vertical line separating the monitor in 2 unequal parts. The printer doesn't signal any errors. It continues to function. I turned it on and off several times, unplugged and plugged again, reinstalled drivers, reset it to default settings, cried for 15 minutes 😢, had coffee, quarrelled with mum, nothing helps ....the issue persists. Is there anything else that can be done? Please, help!

I would not waste a lot of time with this, it is new and under warranty, contact vendor or Technical support and get a repair or a replacement.

Hi Sad_User,
Usually HP printers (new models) have a little test button for the screen just behind the screen.
Press it to see that all colours are working ok.
You can also try to re-seat all cables from both ends, the screen side and the formatter side.
You can try that while the printer is ON, but carefully not to touch anything dangerous (high voltages).
If you see improvements while playing the cables then it's them that are not making good contact or they are faulty.
I hope this may help,
Cheers!

Thank you, Alex, for your attempt to help. I posted my message here as didn't find a proper topic - it is actually a multifunctional printer (all-in-one device with a copier and a scanner ). Laser Jet Pro MFP M479dw. It's great but for this little problem((.
I examined the back side of the LCD, but unfortunately there are no buttons behind.
It has one USB cable and one voltage cable at the back which I tried to reconnect while power was on (I am alive)))), but there were no signs of LCD's colour and sharpness improvement. Vertical lines are there too.
I think it might be another cable's fault - the flat cable connecting the LCD with the matrix inside which can't be reached unless you unscrew all the screws and open the casing ... The problem occurred when I just tried to move the MFP on the floor carefully sliding it 30cm away from where it was.((( Strange actually. 😒
