I am unable to work out how to get the manual duplex function working on my new printer. "Both Sides" is greyed out in the print dialog box. Also my printer will only manual feed all documents. I have relaoded the drivers etc and the problem persists.

Hi @GZinn001
Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
I understand that you are unable to do Duplex Printing on your LaserJet Pro M154nw
I'd like to help.
May I know since when are you facing this issue?
I suggest you uninstall all the printer driver from your computer.
-
Click Finder
in the Dock.
-
In the menu bar, click Go, click Applications, and then open the HP or Hewlett Packard folder.
-
If HP Uninstaller is in the folder, double click it, and then follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the software.
-
If HP Uninstaller is not in the folder, continue to the next step.
-
-
Click and drag the HP or Hewlett Packard folder to the Trash icon in the Dock.
-
In the menu bar, click Go, click Go to Folder, type /Library/Printers, then click Go.
The Printers folder opens.
-
Click and drag the HP or Hewlett Packard folder to the Trash icon in the Dock.
-
Restart the Mac.
-
Right-click or Ctrl + click the Trash icon, and then select Empty Trash.
If you have any issues uninstalling with the HP Uninstaller, try uninstalling with HP Easy Start.
Restart the Printer and computer. then download the HP Easy Start from Here to install the latest drivers and software again.
Once the drivers are installed, follow the instruction on page 31 in this Link to perform Duplex printing.
Let me know how it goes.
Thank you. 🙂

This reply was very helpful in understanding how to completely delete my printer. This explained why when I tried to use just MacOS printer preferences to delete and add the printer, residual preferences remained when I added the printer again. So after getting the software reset and after after much hunting I eventually found the manual paper feed toggle on the web interface which, when switched to the off position, resolved the other issue I had with the manual duplexer. So now the world is good, I understand HP support much better (including the Twitter support interface whis was extra good) and my new printer is back in my good books. I especially love how fast the first copy arrives and I do not miss at all the clunking and banging and slowness of my old HP printer.
