I am unable to print to a Laserjet 1018. The printer does work as I have printed from another laptop just fine.
I think the driver is either missing or corrupt. Even when I delete and reinstall the 1018, it still will not print. Other comments I have read say the a driver in Win 10 will work. However, that apparently is not a correct assumption in this case.
I have used the "Windows-update-troubleshooter" and "HP Smart" and have searched "123.hp.com", all to no avail.
Any thoughts.
Thanks!!

As the printer is working with an alternate computer it says this is not a hardware issue.
This could be an issue with the operating system.
Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10 using this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026923/windows-10-create-a-local-user-or-administrator-acc...
Then, try installing the drivers and check if this helps you out.
Have a great day!

Welcome to the HP Community
This printer does not support Windows 10.
However, Windows contains built-in print drivers for many types of printers. These drivers support basic printer functionality for most print jobs.
I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:
Remove the USB if connected
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01796879 for Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver.
Try to print.
Keep me posted, how it goes!

Good afternoon, Raj1788.
I am running into some difficulty trying to implement your suggestions. I can remove the printer (from settings > devices > printers). However when I try to delete the driver at "printui.exe /s" i encounter an error "Setup encountered an abnormal program execution. Setup will shut down."
Any suggestions?
Thanks!!

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity
Download a special version of HP Print and Scan Doctor.
-
Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
-
Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
-
Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.
-
If your printer is not in the list, turn it off and on and then click Retry.
-
If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.
-
-
If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.
-
If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.
-
Try to print.
Keep me posted.
Have a great day!
Cheers:)
