Operating System: Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

I have the Hp Officejet Pro 8610. It keeps going offline. When I turn it off and back on again, it works. I don't know why it keeps happening. I have checked all the USB cables. I have disconnected them and plugged them back in again. I have deleted the printer from the computer and added it back again. I don't know what else to do. The printer and scanner both work. they just keep disconnecting. Any suggestions?
