Greetings.
We just purchased a Color Laser Jet Enterprise M553. We would like to set it up with our local NTP servers, but we cannot get the configuration to work. We went to the "Date and Time Settings" page and put our NTP server under "Network Time Server address", but we cannot seem to put 123 in the port number box. It only wants a port between 1100 and 1900.
How do we set up NTP?
Thanks.

It looks like we figured it out.
If the "Automatically synchronize with a Network Time Server" option isn't set, then you can't use the "synchronize now" button to test your settings. We didn't want to turn on "Automatically synchronize" until we had tested it first.
Also, it seems the "local port" doesn't matter much (I guess if my NTP server was on the other side of a firewall, then I'd need to make sure that port was open.)
Finally, for some unknown reason, HP chose to make up their own name ("Network Time Server (NTS)") when they were talking about NTP.

Here are my notes. Hopefully it won't remove my post again.
- Check box for "Automatically synchronize with a Network Time Server" first. Click Apply
- Click "NTS Settings"
- enter hostname or IP address of NTP server
- For "Synchronize Time with Server every" enter "1" (every hour)
- click "Synchronize Now"
- Click "OK"
