LaserJet P4015dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We have an HP LaserJet P4015dn network printer running the current 20150731 04.260.1 firmware.

I would like to have this device obtain its time from either an internal Windows Server 2012 R2 server, or from a public Network Time Protocol (NTP) server, such as pool.ntp.org.

However, in the Embedded Web Server for the device, under Settings / Date and Time, there are only options for "Network Time Server", rather than "Network Time Protocol".  Is "Network Time Server" something different than NTP?  I also note that the default port appears to be 1230, whereas the default port for NTP is UDP/123 (and the EWS interface will not accept any port lower than 1100.)

Just for the sake of trying it, I attempting to enter the IP addresses for both an internal Windows Server running w32time and an external NTP server, but after clicking the "Synchronize Now" button, both fail to synchronize time with a "Time Server was not found" error.

Is it even possible to configure HP LaserJet devices to obtain time from an NTP server?

in the same boat with an HP LaserJet M4555 MFP.

Why oh why is the MFP firmware in general written by some long-lost race of cave-dwellers?  Truly terrible.

I absolutely agree. This firmware is a bad joke or a planned assault for people to get mad and waste their money on another crap.

How can it be that it takes hours to find out that the simplest things working on any 15$ raspberry on the planet are not and cannot be implemented on 400$ machines
