Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently bought a JetDirect 610N printer card and my computer does not see the printer on the network. Previously, I had used a parallel to USB on my computer and it worked just fine. Now, however, I need to be able to connect on my Wi-Fi network. Could someone please help me with this issue?

Thank you.

If the card is not seen in the other slot, there may be a way for you to repair the card. This is a common issue with the older 610N and more so with the 615N. They develop cold solder joints on the main processor. Since the card is not working you have nothing to lose to try the method. You need to remove the card with the power off. Next you need to remove the beige back piece which is secured by 2 torx screws. Next take card without the back piece and place in a baking pan with the chips facing up and the card propped up so the bottom does not touch the pan. Now the most important part, you need to use a very good oven and set the oven temp to bake the card at 350F (177C) and when the oven is ready, take the pan with the card and place in the oven for 8 minutes. Remove and let cool for 10 minutes, put the back piece back on and place in the printer with the power off, cross your fingers and turn the printer on and let it come to ready. Wait about 2 minutes and do the config page again. Hopefully you will get a second page with network settings, Usually works about 80% of the time. Good Luck.

Go to Information > Print Configuration page.  Did it assign a DHCP address? And assuming you have a ethernet cord plugged into the machine from the wall port, make sure there are blinking green lights

Many used cards are set up with a static IP address and you need to change the configuration to an address that is compatible with your network.

After setting the address you need add the printer to the PC and identify the IP address during that process. You normally just treat the printer as a local printer and create a new TCP IP port.

The jetdirect card is not being detected.

The jetdirect card is installed in an EIO Slot and both of them are showing empty on the configuration page.

Power off the printer and move the card to the other slot and see if it is detected. With the card installed you should get two pages when you print the configuration page.
