Hi @GRL2025,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301 is running but not feeding paper for print jobs, despite being able to copy and scan. Follow these steps to troubleshoot and address the issue:

Step 1: Check the Paper and Reload It

Ensure you're using good-quality paper that meets the printer's specifications. Here are some tips:

  • Remove any severely bent, wrinkled, or torn paper from the stack.

  • Check for obstructions inside the main tray; small pieces of paper can cause paper feed issues.

  • Align the paper stack by tapping the bottom edge on a flat surface to even it on all sides.

  • Load the stack of paper into the input tray, ensuring it's stacked neatly.

  • Close the input tray securely.

Step 2: Adjust Paper Size and Type Settings

Your printer settings may not match the paper loaded. Adjust these settings from your computer or the printer control panel:

For Windows:

  • Open the program you're printing from and go to File > Print.

  • Access the Properties dialog box (might also be called Options, Printer Setup, or Preferences).

  • On the Paper Quality tab, select the paper type and size from the respective drop-down menus.

  • Click OK to apply the settings.

For Mac:

  • Open your document or photo and select File > Print.

  • Ensure your printer is selected and click Show Details if options aren't visible.

  • Select your paper size and type from the respective drop-down menus.

  • Click Print to confirm the changes.

Step 3: Clean the Document Feeder (if applicable)

If your printer model includes an automatic document feeder (ADF) and it frequently misfeeds, cleaning might fix the issue:

  • Turn off the printer and open the document feeder access cover.

  • Use a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water to clean the rollers and separator pad.

Step 4: Print a Cleaning Page

Printing a cleaning page can help remove specks or streaks that might affect the paper feed:

  • Load plain white paper into the input tray.

  • Open the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) to access cleaning functions.

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to perform a fuser cleaning.

Step 5: Reset the Printer

Resetting the printer can recover it from errors:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, wait 60 seconds, plug it back into a wall outlet, and turn on the printer.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
