HP Lasertjet 2100M

Hello,

I am new to this forum and this is my first time posting. I have been using my LaserJet 2100M for a long while now, but I have been having issues with paper james. So I took it upon myself to do a DIY maintenance kit on the printer. I replaced all the rollers in the kit along with cleaned out the dust on the printer. I did take the whole printer apart to clean it. Well I went ahead and put it back together based upon the service manual, which I do have and now the printer will not pickup paper out of tray 2. The pickup roller does spin and looks I validated that by hitting the tray arm to simulate the tray being installed and watched it spin. I am doing the self test and just trying to print an HP test page with no luck. It is an old printer, but did pickup paper before I did the maintenance kit and now it will not so anything. Any help would greatly appreciated. What should I look for? Thank you in advance.

The pickup roller on this device has a slot that the drive shaft fits into. We have seen cases where either the roller or the shaft get damaged and will spin with no load but when trying to feed paper do not engage. You can test by trying to rotate the pickup roller manually, it should not turn. Also make sure that the tray is lifting properly and that the separation pad is installed properly. there is a spring under the sep pad and if you miss that the pad does not lift up and keep the paper against the pickup roller.
