Hi, I'm a retired Systems Engineer too and had the same problem! How I fixed it was really simple....Just connected direct to the printer via USB cable and controlled it from my Laptop OS! Right click on printer icon and click scan! It would NOT work any other way for me. Very recent laptop n latest OS from MS....... Total time abt 15 min! Good luck to those yet to discover this thread!

Thank you for the solution posted. I'm not a Techy person, but I am trying everything to make this scanner problem work. I need it for my job?
If anyone has further solutions to this software problem, please, please help me. email {Personal Information Removed}.....Sheila Smith

I had the same problem. After weeks of trouble shooting. I uninstalled driver and software version 14 and reinstalled my original CD version 12, and everything is working again. Obviously the version 14 update corrupts the wireless ethernet portion of the application. Good luck.
