HP OfficeJet Pro 9510
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just purchased the above product and it is all hooked up to my wireless system at home. I did the entire 123hp.com setup thing. When I add the printer to my system, the message comes back "Driver is unavailable". I go to the HP support page for drivers and download but nothing works. Currently, I can scan from the machine to my computer, but I can't print wirelessly.  My family can print to the machine from their computers (Macs) and iPhones. Can anyone provide some assistance or insight here. I don't want to return the machine to start over here.

By the way, this is my 4th HP machine and by far the most difficult - by a long shot.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting HP.

Click on the little Wireless Icon at the top on the printer display and look for wireless settings > Get the Printer's IP Address.

Add the printer.

1) Go to Control Panel > Printers.

2) Click on Add a Printer.

3) Click on "The printer that I want isn't listed".

4) Choose the option "add a printer using TCP/IP address" > next.

5) Device Type as "Standard TCP/IP printer > Enter the IP address. >next

6) Choose HP from the Manufacturers list. Then choose the HP printer from the list. If the exact printer is not listed then look for Deskjet 1000 or PCL3 drivers.

7)Click next> choose "replace the existing drivers"> next

😎 keep clicking next and finish.

9) Try printing and check.

Thank you for trying. This didn't help though. First of all, as per your instructions, my exact printer is not listed. In addition, your suggested "Deskjet 1000" or "PCL3 drivers" are not listed either.  I'm getting the following  installation error message

Installation Error

Call to DriverPackageinstall returned error 32 for package

'C:\Prog ram Files\HP\HP OfficeJet Pro 901O series\DriverStore\VetiV4\hpygid29_v4.inf':

A component of the driver package in the Dlfx driver store is locked  by a thread or process .

Can you assist further? Thank you.

Hi,

I would suggest you to install a much simpler software that has additional features, known as HP Smart.

HP Smart software works when the printer is connected on a network.

HP Smart is an App and can be synced and used on a mobile device as well.

HP Smart can be downloaded via Microsoft Store.

You need to create a login with your email ID and choose a password of your choice.

Then add the printer.

The Device (Computer or Mobile Device) should be connected to the same network as the printer.

Hope the above helps!!

I have been using HP Smart, as it was loaded onto my machine my last HP Machine HP OfficeJet 8710 - which also now has the same problem. I can scan and print from our MACs or iPhones, but not my MS Windows 10 Dell. I've deleted that software and reloaded a number of times, as well as rebooting both my Dell and the HP Printers. Any other suggestions?

Looks like there is an issue with the Windows OS that is preventing the successful Install and Uninstall.

Please download a utility tool from the link below and Run it.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/windows-fix-problems-that-block-programs-being-instal...

The tool will fix issues related to install and reinstall.

Next go to the run command by pressing the "Windows" +"R" key on the keyboard.

Type in "services.msc" and hit the enter key.

The Services window opens.

There is a long list of Services,

You need to look for the below services, and right click on each of them one at a time and select Start (If the services are already started then skip).

Function Discovery Provider Host

Function Discovery Resource Publication

Print Spooler

Windows Image Aquisition

Windows Installer

Net Set Up Service

Once done close the window.

Now try Uninstall and reinstall of the original printer software and check the results.
