HP Color LaserJet Pro 3201dw Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

After printing several images successfully I started getting the image printed half-size.  I printed this image on my B&W printer and it's normal size but on the color printer it prints small.  In the print preview it fills the paper but not when it prints.  See the photo.  I turned off the printer and restarted and it still does this.Printing half sheet.jpg

Hi @WW332730

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

It looks like your HP Color LaserJet Pro is scaling the image incorrectly despite the preview showing full size. This mismatch usually happens when the printer driver or application misinterprets the printable area or paper type. Let’s go step by step to fix it:

Scale to fit paper size using the printer settings

Follow these steps to specify the size of a document to fit the page size for printing.

Note:

  • The print setting options will vary depending on the Windows version and Office applications or app.
  • From the Office app, select the Print option.
  • Select the printer, and then click Properties or Printer Properties.
  • Printer Properties

Printer Properties

  • Click the Advanced tab.
  • In the Scale/Resize area, select the Print document on option, and then select a size from the drop-down list.
  • Click OK to close the printer settings or properties dialog box.
  • In the Print dialog box, click OK or Print to print the job.
  • Depending on your Windows version, click Apply to save the settings, and then click Print in the Print dialog box.

Reset printer defaults

  • In Devices and Printers,
  • Right‑click your printer
  • Printing Preferences
  • Click Restore Defaults.

Then reselect paper size and quality manually.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
