P1102W
macOS 10.14 Mojave

My P1102W printer has been hooked up to my PC for a couple years and now I am looking to hook it up to our network. I have since gotten rid of my PC. When trying to connect the printer via USB cord, my imac says 'the disk inserted is not readable by this computer'. I am trying to install the software, but that fails. When I go to the apple, printers/scanners, my computer recognizes the unit as a scanner.

Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know how to fix this? This is for a home office, so not a huge number connecting.

Looking forward to hearing anyone's advice.

A warm welcome to HP Forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.
It looks like the Mac is recognizing the printer as a disk drive, HP Laserjet P1102W has a feature called as smart install which installs the printer software automatically on Windows as soon as you connect the printer using a USB cable. Try the solution available in this post.

Let me know how it goes!
