HP LaserJet Pro P1102w
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hello,

My LaserJet P1102w is a problem child. By far the WORST printer I have ever owned. The latest problem is a report of "Load Plain Paper" from the print queue while the one and only tray is FULL. As a result it will not print (big surprise). The firmware is the latest I can find online (20130703). Router DHCP is configured to give it a static IP address. Toner cartridge is at 10%. I've restarted the printer oodles of times, reseated the toner cartridge, and took a can of compressed air to cartridge and paper tray areas. No one, Mac or Windows, can print to this PoS. Funding isn't available right now to replace this festering piece of garbage, hence the question. I would appreciate any suggestions the community might have.

Thanks

The tray where you put paper is a sensor which detect it this sensor is not touching the page

You have to open the printer it's front door than both side door and than the back cover .

On back side is the sensor apply contact spray and clean the sensor and adjust sensor it will work

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

By front door you mean the opening in which the paper is inserted, the tray?

The side door is? The printer only has two doors.

Would the back cover be the top door where the toner is inserted/removed?

Do I need to get some screwdrivers and start disassembly?

Thanks again
