Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My LaserJet P1102w printer will only print when USB is connected.

If I connect with WiFi, it fails with status "Attention Required".

However, the HP print service app for Android prints without problems over WiFi. So I resorted to just printing to pdf, mail myself and print it from the phone. It's not an ideal solution.

I've installed the latest drivers, upgraded the printer's firmware and followed basically every single tip on the internet to fix it but with no luck. What I noticed is that the  printer always falls back to "Letter" paper size but I only ever print on A4. It seems I can't get the A4 setting to stick  - it reverts back to "Letter" from time to time.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting errors while printing, follow these steps to fix the issue.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor on your Windows computer to help diagnose and fix printing and scanning issues.

  1. Make sure paper is loaded in the main tray, and then turn on the printer.

  2. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor, and then follow the prompts to install and open the tool.

  3. On the welcome screen, click Start to select your printer and run the diagnostic.

  4. If your printer is not found, click My product is not listed, and then follow the instructions to troubleshoot the connection.

Run the Windows printer troubleshooting tool

Windows includes a troubleshooting tool that can help resolve printer issues.

  1. In Windows, search for and open Troubleshoot Settings.

  2. Click Printer > Run the troubleshooter.

  3. If prompted, select your printer in the list, and then click Next.
