HP Laserjet P2015d
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I see other people seem to also have this sort of issue where their printer goes offline. Mine does it periodically and I know how to fix it each time so that it will print the doc in queue but how do I fix this so the 'use printer offline' doesn't ever happen?  The printer is connected to my laptop (via USB) and is my default printer and I am running WIN10 (x64). The "HP LaserJet P2015 PCL6 Class Driver" is installed.

Most of the 'fixes' I see here on the board only address how to fix is once so that it will print but I want to know how to prevent this 'offline printer" from happening at all.  I see no settings for this printer such as 'allowing offline printing' or similar so how do I prevent this?

Thanks.

HP P2015d is known as bad formatter (which is the one you plug USB cable into) and its symptom is just as you said .... goes offline.  If at this time when you press the green button on the front panel and it will not print Demo page then that's it.

Another symptoms like no paper light lits all the time through there're paper in  the tray or both of two lights lit when these happen pressing any button won't help only power off/on may help. That's it for sure.

The formatter needed to be replaced to cure it.

Or you can bake it in the oven which it's not a joke - really bake it in the oven, it will last its life for a period of time but sooner or later it'll happen again then you need to bake again until it's useless....

It prints fine when I do a test page and normally it prints fine without the 'offline printer' issue but it seems to occur on occasion. Not sure what causes it to go offline and wanted to know how to prevent it (a setting somewhere?).
