HP LJ Pro 400 m401dn Printer
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (64-bit)

I have a HP LJ Pro 400 m401dn Printer connected with Windows Server 2008 x64 through USB cable .  While printing, some times it shows error and printing terminated. The error(s) is/are randome.

 

Error Message1:

 

PCL XL Error

 

           Subsystem:    KERNEL

 

           Error:                 IllegalTag

 

           File Name:       kernel.c

 

           Line Number: 1921

 

 

Error Message2:

 

PCL XL Error

 

           Subsystem:    TEXT

 

           Error:                 InternalError 0x50

 

           File Name:       cheettext.c

 

           Line Number:  2024

Hello, this PCL XL error is a driver issue. I would switch to the PCL5 driver and see if that fixes the issue. PCL6 driver is not as stable as the PCL5 driver, so you will see this error, as well as, other strange issues. For example, continous printing with gibberish, blank page before or after each print job is complete, just to name a few.
