I'm trying to print a PDF which displays fine onscreen (in browser, or Preview, or Acrobat Reader). But it prints with the wrong font. I pasted a snippet into Word, which identifies the font as CM10. Acrobat Reader identifies the fonts used as CMBX10, CMSC10, ... with the note "(embedded subset)" in each case. I don't think I have those fonts installed on my Mac, but even so, if they're embedded in the PDF, why do I need to?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi,

Please try opening to PDF in Adobe Reader and open the Print dialog.

Click the Advanced button and check the box next to Print as Image and confirm the changes.

Now try printing the PDF and check for any difference.

Thanks very much. This solved my current problem, allowed me to print the document in the correct format.

However, I'd still like to figure out how to print the document in the "normal" way. I shouldn't need to have the fonts installed on my computer if they're embedded in the PDF.
