My printer black cartridge shows depleted. I ordered new 972A and 972X since 974 no longer offered and printer says both 972A and 972X are incompatible.
I have learned that HP 972 cartridges are for use in United States and Canada only. HP 974 cartridges are for use in Mexico, Central America, South America
My printer must be configured for another country by HP and is rejecting HP 972 cartridges.
Is there a way to reprogram the printer region to be United States?

Yes,
You would need to contact HP Support in the US in order to reprogram the printer to accept the local ink cartridges.
Be sure to have a full set of HP Genuine HP 972 Black, Yellow, Magenta, and Cyan Cartridges ready and the printer connected to a Windows PC or a Mac computer.
Next, fill below form by providing your Personal Information and Printer Information, then select the Phone option to get a case number and the contact details to call HP:
