I was printing from a website and got a paper jam. Cleared the actual jam, then re-tried. Same thing over and over.  The jam happened in various spots. I tried clearing the jams, re-starting the printer, and pulling the plug out and back in. I then tried print jobs coming from other sources.

1. Printed internal printer reports - No problem.

2. Printed from the scanbed - No problem.

3. Printed from a Word document on my computer-No problem.

The problem is only when I print from an online source.  Ideas?

Thanks, Debra

Website print jobs are no different than regular application print jobs.  Its all printer language by the time it makes it down to the printer for physical printing where you say a jam is occuring.   Jams are physical problems with the paper, rollers or something in the paper path.  Best thing you can normally do is to check the rollers and clean or replace them if they are worn out.  After that check teh paper path for crud and make sure there is nothing funky with the paper.  Thats about it.

Considering your feedback on test might be to try printing the same web document locally and saving it to your desktop.  You can use something like an XPS or PDF writer to accomplish this task.  Then open up the new document and reprint it from your desktop.  In theory this should treat the web site print job teh same way as teh other print jobs in your feedback.  The printer wont know the difference and should behave accordingly.

Another test would be to try printing from other websites and see if there is something unique going on with the ony you mentioned here or not.  Perhaps some kind of wierd printer command is getting submitted from that site.  Make sure you are printing from a printable version of the website if the site has such an option.

Thanks for giving me some other things to think about. Other websites printed with no problem.  The website I was printing from worked if I went to the PDF preview and then printed. I'm not a technical person so don't know if this makes sense but the page had video links and a link to a live phone session. So perhaps those created problems for the printer. I tested this by printing another page from their website that did not have any videos or live phone sessions and it printed just fine. So I think that is likely the reason.  So now I know that if it has these interactive links, I should print from the PDF view. Thanks again.
