Go the HP web site and look for what drivers are available for your printer and operating system version.
To add a new driver (keeping the existing one, so you end up with two printer "instances") may mean using the Windows 'Add printer' dialogue).

A WPS Pin is something to do with setting up a wireless connection - not my area of expertise at all - it's possibly the "password" on your router.
Looking at the web site, it seems that, for the LaserJet Pro M402d and M402dw models, HP only offers a single (PCL6 (PCL XL)) driver, either as the "driver only" (to be added via Windows "Add Printer" dialogue), or as part of the "full solution sofrtware" which contains the driver, installer and other components (e.g. status tools).
So you are probably already using the only available driver.
So I'm not sure what else I can suggest, sorry.

If you are currently using the device-specific PCL6 driver, it seems that the product also supports use of the PCL6 and PostScript variants of the Universal Printer Driver; the support document http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c04324001 indicates:
For the UPD, see http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=4157320&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4192

after you comments i decided to try to get some kind of technical support. After several phone calls i finally got to a tech rep for HP who helped me download the universal driver which seems to have corrected the problem.
Printing like a race horse,
Thanks
