A minimal print log can be obtained from the printers Embedded Web Server. A network connected printer is required. Log in to the IP Address of the printer from a web browser and authenticate with the admin password. Under the Information tab click on Job Log. From here you can see the basic information on the print jobs sent through the printer.
A random printer i selected showed the following fields:
- JobName
- User
- Status
- Date
If you want more advanced print auditing then you will need to setup a print server or some kind of print auditing software to store and track that information for you.

To log into the Embedded Web Server (EWS):
1. Print off a configuration page from the Control Panel of the printer. There should be a reports area that can expose the networking information.
2. Open a web browser
3. Type the IPv4 Address of the printer into the Address Bar of the browser (ex. 192.168.1.25)
4. Hit ENTER and accept any security warnings from your browser about accessing the website
If you are getting stuck then share what step you are getting stuck on, what you are typing in and the error message. Note that your printer must be network connected for you to be able to log into the EWS. USB connections do not work with this feature.

Heya, just following up on this in the hopes someone can help. I have an HP ENVY 5000 and am also trying to view my print history/job log. When I enter the IP address it comes up with the 'HP Embedded Web Server', but I can not see a job log anywhere? Ifell like it must be staring me right in the face, but after clicking around multiple times, I havent had any luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! 🙂
