HP 4350n
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently acquired this used printer. First issue: it leaves a faint vertcal splotchy line on the page. Black dots. I ran the cleaning page twice, with little effect. I switched fusers with another 4350 with a known good fuser. The print issue follows the original fuser. If I just replaced the fuser film sleeve instead of the whole fuser (I'm not going to sink a ton of money in this machine),  would that likely fix it?

Second issue: I was printing Usage Pages over a couple of days, to test the printing issue, and I noticed I had accumulated 3 identical usage pages. They all read 98,660 pages printed. The count would climb as long as the printer stayed on, but if I turned it off then back on, it would print another Usage Page of 98,660. Like Ground Hog Day, if this printer belonged to Bill Murray. I'm now pretty certain that this printer has printed substantially more pages than what it says. It would also explain the bad fuser.  Any idea if there is a remedy? My dream solution would be a way to retrieve the actual usage number, but would be happy with just stopping it from resetting.

You could change the sleeve but make sure you also get the grease needed to put on the ceramic heater or the new sleeve will not last long. As to the count. Most laserjets count only increases in 10's. In other words if you have a total count of 26,510 and print 9 pages and then turn off the printer, when you turn it back on the count will be the same. If you print 11 pages then the count should increase to 26,521. I never go by the usage page and only use the total page count that appears on the config page.

Dang! You were right on the page count thing. If I had been discussing this problem with a friend or just some random person, and they suggested maybe the count wouldn't be saved until 11 pages were printed, I would have laughed in their face. What a ridiculous comment. Turns out to be true.  I've perused many Laserjet User Manuals and Service Manuals before, and never seen this mentioned. I'm wondering how stupid I should feel.
