The printed pages come out rotated--top of document is at bottom of page.  A critical problem when printing checks.  There were no recent software changes.

Welcome to the HP Support Community

Let's try changing the Page order.

Page order: Print pages from front to back or back to front.

Launch the HP print driver window from common Windows applications and learn how to navigate the different tabs and menus.

  1. Open the document or photo on your computer, click File or the menu icon , then click Print.

Print or Print Pictures window or pane opens with general print job settings, including the menu to select the printer you want to print to.

  2. Open Document Properties or Printing Preferences from the main print window or pane to access the HP print driver settings. The button or link name varies depending on the app you are printing from.

    • Microsoft Word: Click Printer Properties

    • Paint and WordPad: Click Preferences

    • Windows Photo Viewer: Click Options... in the lower right corner of the screen, then click Printer Properties... in the Print Settings window

    • Adobe PDF Reader: Click Properties

  3. To view the different settings, click the tabs along the top of the window.

  4. Change the page order as desired.

  5. Click on ok.

YES, YES, YES!!!  I went to printer properties and found the place to restore default settings.  So now documents print in the correct orientation.  I haven't tried a check yet, but I'm confident it will work.  Three people of varying computer expertise spent a lot of time without success researching this problem.  I'm so grateful to you.  Now if you could only get HP to provide basic instructions on how to operate the printer I'd be much happier.

I spoke too soon.  When I trty to print checks, the page is rotated.  When I go to the Quicken printer settings, I see that "rotate 180 degrees" is on, but when I set it to off, then I get the message that I cannot create a file when that file already exists.  Thus the  checks print out rotated, and useless.  I have no idea what file that is or how to find it.

I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:

Remove the USB if connected

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m227-series/9365384/s... to download and install the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227d Full Feature Software and Drivers.
