Ok here is my problem (been working on it for a few hours now and start to think it is fricking rocket sience!)

I had a recent network (WiFi) change. and so I needed to reconnect my fully working and operational HP Laserjet M102W.

But... It will NOT!

So a quick network sketch:

Main router is on the ground floor and printer is on the second. I have a wired connection to the second which is connected to an Apple Airport (in Bridge Mode)

So the printer will not connect to the WiFi anymore.. Even if I change the SSID names back to the old ones. it does not connect.

When I use HP Easy start the printer is not found. I have tried turning the printer off and on again several times with no luck.

I tried connecting the printer via USB. Ofcourse the printer is now recognized by Ease Start. But when I try to make the printer connect to the WiFi is does not. It throws me an error: Failed to connect to the Network. (as the password is directly taken from my keychain it must be correct, My WiFi on the host is fully operational.

Looking at a factory reset is just driving me crazy as it looks like the printer needs some network connection. (and I have NONE)

so my big question is: How do I do a full factory reset when the printer is NOT connected to any network and has only WiFi for network and USB for direct printing?

Many kudos to the one who can make my day!

Ok,

So after the printer was turned off for like a day. I decided to give it one more try.

I don't know if I did anything to solve this but during startup the attention and active light flashed. I just pressed the cancel/go Button and the WiFi button and the WiFi started working!

Maybe I accidently stumbled on a way to disable the WiFi (by pressing cancel/Go + WiFi )  but the printer is functional again.

Weird as it may be..

Well thanks anyway for the support!

Does your wi-fi router supports WPS ? If yes try to connect them using WPS.

Yes It does.

I have an Airport Extreme and I tried using WPS but it will not connect.

Can you set both old SSID name and old password key the same ?

I have tried that with no luck..

The thing I notice is that the blue WiFi led is off. It doesn't blink or anything else.

Pressing the WiFi button does notihing. Pressing it for 3 second makes it flash toghether with the green ready led.

(which is WPS mode if I am not mistaken)

I would also like to add that when I print a status page on the Wireless NetWork Confi it says that WireLess = Off..

I have no idea if this means it is not connected or really off..

If it is off, how do I enable WiFi (the button doesn't do the trick)

Do you have old router so you can test operation of wifi on old hardware ? Any chance to try to connect printer to another wifi ( friend or family ) using WPS ?

I had customer that had problem trying to connect printer to new router, it was router problem he got new router different model.

Well I had bought A new router.

Tested WPS on the old one (config has not changed)

And also tested WPS on the new router.

Both with no luck..

It looks like the WiFi of the printer is broken somehow..

When the printer is powered on.

after is has fully started the WiFi led blinks once and right after that the Attention and ready led blink (I believe 3 times) WiFi led turns off and I can not get it to an ON status.

Anyone else have any idea?

At this moment I have 2 questions:

1 - Is there a way to do a full factory reset on the printer when there is no IP connectivity?

2- as I am suspecting the WiFi to be faulty. Is this something I can replace myself ?
