HP Color LaserJet 3600
macOS 10.14 Mojave

I have a beautiful Color LaserJet 3600. It made the most beautiful prints, but HP stopped updating the driver for the Mac, so the machine has become almost useless. Sometimes I succeed in a print switching on and off, a hard reset, but in general, I can say It has become useless. Is there a printer driver for the mac that makes the machine work again? Or is it just the formatter board that I should replace? Most of the time the printer is ready and the mac tells me that it is offline.

I'm not sure but I changed the IP settings from automatic to manual and changed the IP address too. Now my Mac recognized it as Bonjour printer. And it seems to work now. I have to use this some time, but in a way, it might have done the trick. Thanks!

It sounds likely that the printer's IP address may be setup under DHCP, which will allow it to change anytime the printer or router is reset or turned off/on, which means that sometimes it matches your computer setup from time to time and then you can print. To fix that, you should go into the printer's network setup and configure it with a static IP address instead of DHCP so that it matches what your computer has set for it and then you should be good. Hopefully it won't be a duplicate in conflict with another device that has the same IP address. Once you set the printer to a static IP address, you should probably reset the router so it picks up the address correctly and reassigns any device that might have the same IP to a different one. I don't think it's a printer driver issue.
