Product: HP Laser Jet P1006
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

Tried to update printer package to Mac with Catalina operating system but got error message that HP drivers pkg is damaged and can't be open. You should eject the dish image."  Certainly stymied. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Try installing the printer by following below steps and selecting your printer model from the Use drop-down menu, it should install its drivers automatically:

https://support.apple.com/en-il/guide/mac-help/mchlp1077/mac

 

If you experience any issues, try downloading the drivers again from another browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox) and check:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/ASU/HPPrinterDrivers5.1.dm...

Tried your various ideas, but Catalina will not let me load Foxfire or Chrome at the moment. All the installation systems approved, but now getting a message from HP that a  "Gatekeeper" violation has been invoked. This is an old P1006 printer that has worked for years, but the  age of the software probably is the problem.
