HP LaserJet MFP M234sdw Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Product: HP LaserJet MFP M234sdw

OS Windows 11 connected to printer via USB

Printer was purchased Sept 2024 from a computer store. I have only printed 551 pages since new, but now my system will not recognize it, even though the HP app says it's connected. I was recieving an error message  0x8004003. I completely uninstalled all files and drivers, disconnected both the USB cable and the power cord for 1 day, did a complete re-install as if it was new, but the problem still persistes. Any ideas?000 printer.png

I would suggest this. Disconnect the printer from the computer and uninstall all HP software related to the printer.

Then on your computer, go to device manager, under view select show hidden devices. Go to printers, if this is your only printer, delete all entries under this category. If you have other printers, do not delete printers you can identify as valid that are not the 234.

If you see a WSD Print provider, delete entries there as well.

Restart your computer at this point and start a fresh install, do not connect the printer until the install prompts you to.
