I was just wondering, since we are forbidden to reply to this old thread https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/Print-preferences-dialog-incorrect-scale/td-p/617719... if after 8 and half years HP was able to fix this issue.

1. First make sure you have a proper HP driver installed and not a Microsoft IPP or Class driver installed.

On your PC go to the control panel app
Right click on Devices and Printers and select "open"
Right click on the icon for your printer and select "printer properties"
Click on the "advanced tab", and check the name of the driver. If it is one of the drivers mentioned above, delete the printer, download the current install package from support.hp.com and reinstall.
2. If you do have the proper HP driver installed do this:

On your PC go to the control panel app
Right click on Devices and Printers and select "open"
Right click on the icon for your printer and select "printer properties"
Click on the "device settings" tab and scroll down until you see "device type" and change to color
Device Type Settings

If you have not already tried, I would install the HP Universal Printer Driver to see if that will provide the correct scaling for the print properties window.

Surprisingly it now shows correctly, only issue is now it does not print in color, which is kinda sad for color printer.

That solved it, thank you for your help.

Well, is is set as duplex, correctly, but did not print on both sides, but I did print only one multi page document yet, so hopefully it will fix itself.

It is very intuitive to call color/grayscale "device type", maybe in another 8 years hp can change the name of the property to maybe "color capable printer?" yes/no

Update: two sided printing is probably either firefox not being able to se it or hp  not using standard way it is set, when it set regular printing dialog it works (so far)
