This is a highly frustrating issue. Why will my LaserJet CP 4525 work flawlessly with my old (8 years) Dell laptop? Why now that I've bought a brand new MSI very powerful gaming laptop will it not print to this printer using Windows 10? Who among you can ask me a bunch of questions so we can solve this complete headache that I have over this issue? I have downloaded and installed every driver that is recommended for the printer and PC. I have downloaded and used the HP Support Assistant program which didn't work. I have downloaded and used the HP Print and Scan Doctor which didn't work. I have connected my PC to my printer via the proprietary USB connector that came with the printer. I have connected my PC to the printer with a known good ethernet cable. Both at once and each separately. The ONLY headway that I can see is when running the Scan Doctor program it tells me that a "Port Match" problem is present. Only I can't find any way to solve it on HP's website or forums when I enter that into any fields for help. This is my last chance of getting help. Maybe someone knows exactly what needs to be done to solve this issue. Surely many people are experiencing what I am going through right now. And why that solution is not visible EVERYWHERE is totally baffling to me. Thank you for any help that you might be able to provide.

If you have an N (network) model why waste precious time monkeying around with USB? Connect the printer via network, download the current HP Universal Printer Driver and manually install the printer on a TCP/IP port and be done. There is a reason USB connections are often referred to as "plug and pray".

Data Connections with USB on top and Ethernet on bottomRepairatrooper,
I have attempted connecting my laptop to the printer via network cable. I am of the opinion that an ethernet cable is the same thing as a network cable. If I am wrong, please correct me. The cable I used would be the same that I would use to plug my PC into the router to get wired internet. These cables are interchangeable, correct? An ethernet cable is the same thing as a network cable, right? I would not have asked for help had I not exhausted all common sense remedies at my disposal. I have downloaded every driver that HP has for my printer and also some that aren't for my printer but are in its class of printer family. I am not going to say that your response is rude and or curt because you don't have any facts in hand to help me. I can give you as many facts on my situation to warrant help to get my particular laptop working with my particular printer. If you would like me to forward to you any and all information that you would require to complete that task, I will comply. If you need me to have my laptop connected to my printer via a network cable and for me to take screenshots of it in that state for diagnosis purposes, I can accomplish that as long as you are specific with what you exactly want to see. I also have installed and extensively tried to use HP's tools to diagnose and repair/solve my problems with "HP Print and Scan Doctor" and "HP Support Assistant", all to no avail. I will include a screenshot with the drivers that I have downloaded and installed for you to see and help get started. Any further help would be appreciated.Downloaded and Installed Drivers
