My LaserJet Pro M227sdn has started printing a thick black line (margin) on my documents

If the line is a single color then you may have a bad cartridge that matches the color of the line. Other causes are a bad fuser or failing transfer belt. Is the line well bonded to the page? Can you post a sample.

If you see the  thick black line no matter it's black or color document it often points at that you have a bad toner cartridge.

If so you can see a circle of toner at the same place on the surface of black toner cartridge's drum.

Another easy way to check it out is to change another black one.

There're another possibilities are fuser and transfer belt but each of them will affect all four colors so you shall see other colors show up.

I changed the toner and the drum and all is well, thanks
