Laserjet 500 M551

I have two of these printers on our network that have suddenly begun outputting about 30 sheets of blank paper for no reason several times a day. How can I make this stop?

turn off the printer hope you have done and try to clear the print cache or clear from printer spool folder

A common cause of this is someone having a wrong drive installed and sending jobs the printer cannot understand, although often there will be a few gibberish characters on the page. The other possibility is that someone has hacked your printer and is sending blank jobs to create stress. To solve this problem I would change the IP address that the printer is on and make sure that you have the security settings on the printer properly configured and unused ports and protocols are disabled. Absolutely make sure that you have a unique password programmed into the embedded web server of the printer.
