Hi,
I have a HP M601 network laserjet printer, so the thing is there are two versions of the same report, one is sent directly from the application to the printer and it prints to the correct tray but the second version is routed via Microsoft SQL Server external reporting services (MS-SSRS) which always prints to the wrong tray this is creating a big issue. I have seen a notable thing in the job log of the printer the application prints goes via the respective domain user whoever sends it but the SSRS reports go via the "guest" user no matter who sends it, if that helps.

This sounds like a driver and applcation setting conflict.
What does Microsoft have to say about how you are sending your SQL Server reports to the printer? They should have some kind of recommendation for settings or features from SQL Server to produce certain kinds of results. Before you contact Microsoft try to isoalte the problem down further in SQL Server. Generate a simple test report on your own from MS-SSRS. See if the app can properly print anything. If not then you know its an issue with the app, dont worry about your custom reports or processes. Use the simplest and easiest to reproduce scenario with MS when troublehsooting, then apply what you learned to your custom scenario.
From HPs point of view, as long as the printer can print correctly from other applications on that OS then it is not a physical printer problem. You can experiement with different drivers but if the application is sending bad print commands, then it is up to the application vendor to resolve the problem.
