trying to print a 5 x7 inch photo onto a 5x 7 card.  HP asks for paper size but does not offer 5 x 7. the closest choice is 5 x 8 which I chose and then fed the cardstock into the place that you use to load envelopes in the front.  It printed but reduced the picture to 3 1/2 x 5 inches instead of filling the card.  We played for two hours with setting without any success.  Tried calling HP support but they say my warranty ran out 4 days ago.    Guess if your not in the one year since purchase that HP won't talk with you?    All of their online solutions simply restate what we have already tried and don't work.   Can anyone help or suggest a way I can get with HP (an actual person)?

@Trying_2000-

Unless you had an inclusive warranty for software, the standard hardware warranty did not cover how to use the printer anyway - nothing lost in that regard.  If you get to the point where you really want to speak with HP, the process allows it - for cost (fee, for example, for phone support).  The problem is getting through - there are SO many people in the world trying to get help that getting Out-of-Warranty help, though - again, the process is in place to support it - can be frustratingly difficult.  Welcome to 2020 and the whole world at home needing support.  Sigh.

OK.

This is likely a repeat - but we don't know what you have tried.

Here goes...

What you need is a Custom Paper Size Form / shortcut - and according the the Specifications, your printer supports custom paper sizes - and it supports post card "card paper" (to 200 gsm).

Here's where I usually have trouble with Laser printers - unfortunate lack of expertise...

IF you are using the Full Solution Software

then I think the following "Custom Paper Size" form document is relevant for your Laser printer:

HP Document:  HP Printers - Creating Custom Paper Sizes

Called from:

Print Driver Settings Guide (Windows)

Examples

NOTE:  Both of these are from / for Inkjet printers - that is all I have.

I am guessing the setup might be similar for your printer - emphasis on "guessing".

Example 1

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers >

Left-Click on your Printer one time to highlight >

Left-Click Print Server Properties (along the top ribbon)

Custom_Form_Index_Card_6x8Custom_Form_Index_Card_6x8

Newer style - Custom Paper Size Form setup

Example 2

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers >

Right-Click on your Printer > If necessary, select printer from drop down menu / list

Printing Preferences > tab Paper/Quality > Custom
