Laserjet P2015 PCL6
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (64-bit)
Hello, I'm trying to add x86 additional drivers to 2008R2 print server, but the downloaded packages "LJP2015-pcl6-pnp-win32-it" or "ljp2015pcl6vista2k2008xp2003" seems to doesn't contain the corret driver (hppaew04.inf, hppcp504.inf) The server report "the specified location does not contain driver for the requested processor architecture". I have to find a solution because some users have windows xp clients and need to use the printer. Thanks in advance Davide

Solved using an unusual way.

The only driver suitable for WinXP is was not aligned with the x64 version, as a result that is not possibile to install it directly to print server.

I solved in this way:

installed a printer as local device on winXP client.

from the client have opened \\PRINT_SERVER\devices and printers

right clic on the printer

at this point start the driver installation from the client, using the x86 printer driver (not the UPD, but the native driver).

Now on the server are available both x64 and x86 native printer driver.

This workaround is only for the win2008 R2, on the earlier Windows server versions this issue is not present.

I was able to install both 32 and 64 bit driver using Universal Printer Driver.

Now the problem is that Windpws XP client does not install this driver, when I setup the printer.

I'm not able to exit from this crazy loop !!!!
