When I try to pront a PDF file using the MacOS 'Preview' appliucation, the laser print 'cycles' like it is getting reaady to print. The status says "sending to printer", but nothing ever prints. The toner levels are high, printing anything else (test document, spreeadsheet, text file, photo) works perfectly. There are no connection problems as I am printing over WiFi (the computer and printer are within 5 feet of the wireless router)

Hi @ed_orbea,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I see from the post that you are having issues with printing PDF files on your HP LaserJet Printer. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
Let's start off by updating the Adobe Reader as it could be one of the possible causes for this issue.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to follow the steps suggested in the support document for - HP Printing Products - Cannot Print PDFs from Adobe Reader
You may also try resetting the printing systems by following the steps from the link: Resetting the Printing System (Mac)
I hope this should do the trick. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.
Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

I AM NOT using Adobe Reader. I am using the MacOS ative PDF viewer/editor/printer "Preview.app", so your comments regarding Adone DO NOT APPLY tro this situation.
I hve already reset the printing system; deleted and reloaded the printer driver software; ensured my Mac has all the latest O/S upgrades.
And still no success!

Hi @ed_orbea,
Thank you for replying,
I appreciate your time and efforts,
As I understand you are having issues printing from preview app, don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
Let's try to print any other document using preview app and check if that works, you could as well as try a different PDF and check if that prints using preview app.
This is just to ensure if it's an issue with the app or is it to do with the PDF file itself.
If it's an issue with all the PDF files, I would suggest you download Adobe reader and then try to open the PDF document using this adobe application and then try printing.
Next thing, you could print this pdf as an image.
Print the PDF as an image
-
Open the original PDF file, if necessary.
-
Click File, and then click Print, or click the Print icon (
). The Print window opens.
-
Click Advanced. The Advanced Print Setup window opens.
-
Select the Print As Image checkbox, change any other settings as desired, and then click OK.
-
On the Print window, click OK again to begin printing.
For more assistance, please follow this link: HP Printing Products - Cannot Print PDFs from Adobe Reader
I hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes. . I genuinely hope the computer works great without hassles.
If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,
Followed by clicking on "Accept as solution" from the drop-down menu on the upper right corner,
Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum. Have a great day!

I had the exact same problem. After reading a bunch of options and trying so many things..... I went to my finder window, right clicked on the document and chose "open with" and chose adobe acrobat reader. Then printed as usual and it worked!! Hopefully this will work for you. You do not have to choose Adobe acrobat as your default if you don't want to.
I do have the right click capacity so if you don't, I don't know how else to get to "open with".
