Let me try and help.On the rear door there should be i little door interlock arm.And also on the back of the machine there should be a cutting with a microswitch inside.Once you close the door the microswitch will activate and machine will reset.Try to interlock that switch with a piece of folded paper even with door open the machine will reset.Hope this helps.

nice, but I can not find such micro switch.

There are 4 pieces on the back door going into the body of the printer. 2 are on each side.

The lower ones are made from white plastic and have a feather, that makes sure that the door will stay closed during usage.

The upper ones ar black and going into a hole working as a kind of leading ... to close the back door completely.

Can you upload photos to show the exact position of these microswitches and how to exchange them.

I have already bought 2 dead printers as spaare part donators cause we have 5 modells in use and 2 suffer from the back door open problem...

I hate to have 2 times the same problem and no support.

UPDATE: there is an hp pdf called troubleshooting manual which mentions the sensor as SR607 but nothing further like spare part number or so. You can find the document by searching for  "SR607 REAR DOOR OPEN DETECTION"

The conclusion of the facts that we do not get a support must be that there is a much stronger, deeper repair necessary like a mainboard replacement otherwise we would easily find a description for such problem of a product beeing 5 years in the market.

Unfortunatelly no one of the support team offers real support like showing the parts in photographies and explaining what it needs to get it fixed so it must be most likely a complex and serious problem HP does not want to be fixed by customers, even bigger customers with more units on the desks.
