I have a HP Color LaserJet Pro 3201dw Printer, which I bought last January, and it's connected wirelessly to my home network. I normally leave it turned on, ready to print. While it prints OK most of the time, it has the following issues:
1. Occasionally it goes offline by itself, and requires me to power off and on again before it will print.
2. I get occasional 'Critical System Errors', again requiring a power cycle to clear. The last two had codes:
- F0.01.01.04
- CD.29.B1.0B
... but there have been others earlier that I didn't note.
I haven't been able to determine what event caused these errors, if any.
Can anyone either suggest what the problem is, or advise how I can proceed with further diagnosis. Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks for reaching out to me on this topic. I was unable to reply yesterday because I was suffering from an internet outage (now resolved).
I had originally tried to resolve my problems online, and did appreciate the help that greenturtle provided. But the lead he provided, and several other approaches that I tried, all ended up at the same non-useful dead end, resulting in my frustration. But I must apologise for my rather strident comment about HP support: it really related to the fact that the web pages didn't seem to be able to help with my particular problem.
So yesterday I looked up online the phone number for HP Canada Customer Service and called them, and from then on things went very smoothly. I was referred to a helpful person in the technical support organisation, who was able to deal with both my warranty issue and the original technical problem with the printer. All now seems well, and I have a case number and a phone contact in the event that further action is needed. I don't think that any further action by you is needed.
So thanks to them and to you, and I was impressed that once I connected with a real person the support was excellent.

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Support Community. These errors could be resolved by updating and using the latest firmware.,
Here's how to to update the Firmware for the printer:

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I have already updated the firmware (to 6.28.1.47-202603112313) and it is apparently the current version. The errors pre- and post-dated the new FW update, so it seems that isn't the cause of my problem.
Since this printer has been behaving like this from new, I'm wondering whether there is some other fault in the printer. But I don't know how to determine whether that's the case, or how to find it.
Am I getting to the point where I need to contact HP Support - this printer is still under warranty, so I would hope they can help me? What would they be able to do?

I'm going crazy trying to contact HP. They have my warranty information wrong - the HP website says warranty started May 2025, but I bought the printer and registered it January 2026. Until I can get this corrected, HP says I'm out of warranty, so I can't get technical support for my printer problem. I'm trying to get to a person to sort this out, but just keep going round in circles from one AI page to another without ever finding a link that can help.
I'll keep trying, but if you have any suggestions they would be most helpful.

Thanks again for your help in dealing with this. Unfortunately, the link you gave eventually got me back into the same circular AI web pages.
One page
"HP PCs, printers - Dispute a warranty status"
took me to a page "Check your warranty or service status", which promised a link to dispute my warranty status. But the "Dispute This" link wasn't there as advertised, and instead there was a mysterious note which said
"NOTE: If the dispute link is not displayed, the product might be a commercial product or a product available in India, which cannot be disputed online".
I don't understand the reference to India (I live in Canada), and if I can't dispute the warranty online, there should be a different way to do it - which I can't find, no links to a person or a telephone number.
At one point I got to a Virtual Assistant, which did promise a live agent but never got me one.
It really shouldn't be this hard to get help from a company as reputable as HP.
