HP LaserJet Pro MFP M426dw

Hello,

I am looking for purchasing the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M426dw. I would like to know if the fuser unit needs to be replaced after a while in this model and after how many pages?

Hope you can help me.

Hello, eventually you will need to replace the fuser on any unit. You have to take into consideration how the printer is being used volume wise, the environment, and how you maintain the printer. Usually, a fuser will last or start to go bad around 150,000 prints, but possibly can go longer, again depends on the before mentioned items. There is no perfect environment, I have seen fusers go bad just months after installing, have weird jamming and error code issues caused by power outages/surges.

Hope this helps....

Hi,

So, for the MFP M426dw the fuser is located in the printer it self and not in the cartridge CF226A/CF226X? I heared that the fuser can sometimes be part of the cartridge like the drum too. But I couldn't find relevant information in HP specs sheets for this model.

Hello, the fuser is separate from the cartridge. The cartridge will sometimes be separate from the drum depending on the model, so for those types of printers you would need to order a toner and a imaging unit(drum). But the fuser will always be a separate part from the cartridge.

Hope this helps....

Ok. Thanks a lot!

Also so you know, the fuser for this printer is not a user replaceable item.  It can be replaced but many items have to come off to replace the fuser.
