Hi, I want to update my printer firmware via EWS, and i can't login because I forget the password. I did change the ID and the password a few months ago.
I printed the Network Configuration Report and try to enter the PIN number written there. But still can't log into the the EWS.
I chat with HP support via whatsapp and moving to via email.
several method given to me is not working
here's the list of the method suggested to me:
1. disconnecting all the connections and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
2. turning off the wifi on printer and my router and redo the method #1
3. updating the driver
4. turning off the printer>disconnect the power cable for 30 seconds>turn the printer on while holding the resume button (i don't have resume button but the support said it's the power button) for 30 seconds
at this point the he discuss it with his fellow support and will reply me via email.
via mails method he sent this link:
and refer to the 2 line LCD control panel. I didn't do it since it's clearly written there that this method won't reset the EWS password.
and the next day he sent another method
now it seems the EWS describe by this method is different, so I, again explored my EWS, and none of the option there like the support describes. I clicked on everything clickable on my EWS nothing sounds "security" and "general security". And I still unable to login to my EWS. it seems the support kinda missed several times this information.
and 2 days later he resent this link
so to entertain his persistence and try to be cooperative, I, again explore my control panel which that doesn't match as describe on the website, and my printers doesn't have anything sounds like "service" option, no "factory reset" option. the only rhymes with reset only under network option, there's wifi reset which ONLY reset the connection, but the EWS still not reset to default ID and password.
I just want to reset my EWS ID and password, why is it so hard to get any guide that's specific for my printer?

@helmutGrannus, Welcome to HP Support Community!
The only option left is to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Hope this helps!
