Hello Community,
I have right now the following problem:
This is the same by:
Scanning to usb
Scanning to e-mail
Copy by automatic feeder
Copy by single glass -> this means the small and big glass has the same issues.
Can anyone help me with the solution for this problem?
Regards,
Fer

Things it could be:
Bad scanner light bar in the scanner. Start a scan and open the scanner lid and watch the scanner light bar go across the glass as it scans and see if you see any bad/dead areas on the light bar.
If the light looks OK, it could be a bad data cable, or bad cable connection, from the scanner to the formatter board in the printer. Try reseating the scanner cable first.
Replacement of the scanner assy. or formatter would be the next step. The scanner assy. is the most likely suspect.

Hello ALS,
The scanner light bar looks fine, see pictures below.

There is some dirt/oil visible behind the glass plate, see picture below

Also the cable looks not totally fine.

What is the best action to take?

It is a concern that you have contamination inside the scanner area, but can't say if it is related to your problem. The cable is angled a bit, but not sure that it's damaged. Only way to tell for sure is to ohm it out. I've sent you a private message with a link where you can download the service and repair manuals for your printer that may help you. If you were one of my customers, I'd replace the base scanner assy. to see if it would fix the issue. Typically that's where most of the problems occur.
