HP Color LaserJet flow MFP M880

Since a view weeks (August 18th),Scan to SharePoint Online has suddenly stopped working. It was working well before, without any changes it is now no longer working.

I came across this article (Is Office 365 been causing HP printer/scanner malfunctions since August 18, 2025?)) and wonder if there are any news from HP side.

My device is a is a HP Color LaserJet flow MFP M880, latest firware is installed.

I have the same issue on 75 E57540's and E52645. I have a support case open with our Fleet vendor and HP since August. HP dragging their feet on this one. The detailed error is: Could not establish secure channel for SSL/TLS.  I believe this is a certificate related error that HP needs to fix in a firmware release.

They claimed to have found the issue back in early September and that it would be released on firmware 5.9.0.2 but it did not contain any fix.

Glad to see it's not just me. Have you had any updates?

Thank you for answer.

As in the subject noted, the device is a HP Color LaserJet flow MFP M880.

As I can see, it is a general issue on HP Printers. I have seen several entries in different sites. There were no changes on the printer, it suddenly stopped working from one day to another. Please also see the other user who has answered this post. There is no 3rd party software involved, just the service directly on the printer.

No one gets a clear answer from HP...

Microsoft disabled basic authentication in favor of modern authentication. The only solution from HP is to update firmware, in your scan to sharepoint quickset where you set 'always use this credential' you would have another one called 'microsoft authentication'. If that's missing then the printer doesn't support it.

The workaround we put in place is to setup an onpremise data gateway for azure and created templates to pickup those files and dump to sharepoint. it's a beast to put together but it works.

The HP solution would have you authenticate at the printer every time you scan.

Thank you for your reply. This is exactly what I know now from the different searches. Both are not what we want do. I will let the user scan to mail and then they can upload it manually.
