Hi @Pikachiu
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the scanning issue.
To better assist you -
1.) What's the macOS version installed?
2.) Are you getting any error message?
3.) Does the copy works?
While you respond to that, if you have a macOS Catalina installed -
HP Easy Scan is currently not fully compatible with macOS Catalina and we'd suggest you use the image capture. We're actively working to restore complete functionality. You may refer to this document for more information - HP Printers - HP Easy Scan Is Not Currently Supported in macOS Catalina
Let me know.

I am not an HP employee, but these are the instructions that support provided me, which did the trick:
"
Download and install the latest firmware from hp.com, the issue been fully resolved with the latest firmware available:
Fixed an issue that Scan driver cannot be installed and Scanner cannot be detected on MAC OS with USB connection.
If the scan option still doesn't show after completing the update, follow below steps:
Please try below steps in exact order and let me know if that may help:
Unplug the USB from the printer and restart the printer. Restart your Mac Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners Right-click the printers list (or CTRL + Left Click) and select Reset Printing System. Plug the USB and check the added print queue.
If it still doesn't list the scan option, click the plus sign under System Preferences make sure you select the USB Multifunction instance (type) of your printer."

Make sure your OS is fully up to date to 10.5.3 and check if you may see any difference then.
Click the Apple icon and then About This Mac.
Click Software Update and be sure to install any available update, then check for any difference.
Click the Yes button to reply that the response was helpful or to say thanks.

Hi @suugii,
As the printer specifications list, the printer is only supported on Mac OS 10.11 or later versions.
You would need to update your operating system to a later version first to get scan capabilities, as no scanning software is available for Yosemite:
