I have an office which has a wired internet booster plug for internet connections. I tried to install the printer to my Mac last night and all went fine until i got to a stage where it wanted me to enter my network details. as i don't have wifi in the room in the garage i didn't enter anything. If I connect with the USB cable , does this mean the printer will work?
I looked up instructions for how to connect through USB, does this remove the need to do wireless connections etc?

You should be able to print using the USB cable. I suggest you add the Printer as Airprint. AirPrint is a built-in printing solution for Apple computers and mobile devices. You can print from most apps that have a print feature.
Connect the cable to the USB port on the rear of the printer and to an available port on the Mac
Confirm you are using AirPrint by adding the printer in System Preferences.
-
Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

-
Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, and then do one of the following steps.
-
If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to confirm it is set up for AirPrint. Click the printer name, click the minus sign
to delete the printer, click the plus sign
, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name and then continue to the next step.
-
If your printer is not listed, click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer, and then continue to the next step.
-
-
Confirm AirPrint or Secure AirPrint displays in the Use or Print Using menu, and then click Add.

Open a document or photo, click File, and then click Print.
