I just received my new printer and need to install the software on my iPad and iPhone. I’m on my iPad and have tried twice to get the files. First time I waited fourteen minutes. Now I waited twenty-two minutes and I’m on WiFi.

Thank you very, very much. That gave me the answer to my next question about adding the WiFi connection to the printer. I’m bed-bound so can’t set it up yet. Tomorrow I’ll have someone connect with my iPad and iPhone and find the needed information and codes. I’d hoped to print tonight but I’ll just read and learn.
The IP address will be on the configuration page I’ve just found out so that’s one less worry. I did download two apps from the App Store (HP Smart and Printer) and will delve into those as well.

You are welcome.
I am glad you will have someone to help you.
Idea
If your friend / family member has a notebook computer with a bit larger screen than our (comparatively) smaller iPad screens, ask that person to bring his computer - or email him / her the information tonight / today -- perhaps he / she can print out any instructions they feel would be easier read from a piece of paper.
Stay Safe.

The CNAs here aren’t always the brightest bulbs in the lamp. They have no laptops for helping me with this. Supposedly the configuration page is easy to print without being connected to the WiFi connection. I had a page with the information but closed it I guess I’ll search again for it .
I used to be a programmer and webmaster with 150+ sites. Now I can’t set up a printer so this is very frustrating.
The HP Smart app won’t work unless the printer is connected to my WiFi. It can’t detect the printer without a connection. The Printer app is superfluous and I deleted it. I just have to wait patiently (!!) until tomorrow afternoon. Stupidly I wanted to print out the instructions 😞
I’ll post tomorrow evening to let you know how it went. I’m sure you’ll be waiting with bated breath!
Thank you again
