I received this printer from my daughter who had not used it in a while. I put in new ink cartridges-black and color. I copied something to see if it was working and it was great. Then I tried to copy something from the computer and the printer says there is an ink cartridge problem. I have taken them in out many times and still the message. I have shut it off numerous times also. Any ideas?

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to assist.
I understand that you have an HP Photosmart C4680 All-in-One Printer. I read that the printer was able to make a photocopy correctly. But when you try to print from the computer, an error appears saying "ink cartridge problem". I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
If the printer is able to make a black and color photocopy correctly then it indicates that the printer's hardware and ink cartridge are alright.
Meanwhile, please perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
- Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
- Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
- The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
- Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.
Also, while researching I came across this HP document. It helps to fix various ink cartridge related errors.
