MFP M277DW
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,  My HP MFP M277DW printer suddenly unable to print from tray 2 (the main tray).  It has been working for 2 years and now it suddenly give me the error "Add paper press [OK]".  I did try the video suggested solution provided by HP, however, none of the methods work.   Any other suggestion I should try?

Thank you,

Link does not work so I am not sure what was suggested but here are a couple of tips:

and

The most common cause we see of add paper is when a program tries to print on a media size that is not installed in the printer. PDF documents are common because they are often save in a format such as letter and if you are in a country that uses A4 then you get a document mismatch.

What we need to do is narrow down between hardware or software issue. To do this, use the control panel on the printer and try to print any of the built in reports. If they work, your issue is likely settings.  If you get the same error trying to print a built in report then you have either a hardware issue, or a settings on the printer issue. Check and confirm that the paper tray settings for Tray 2 on the printer are letter size and plain paper.

Hi, thank you for the replied.  I did try the method you suggested and the printer has the same error.  My feeling is the hardware issue, but anyone have more suggestion that I can try or any easy remove part that I can replace?  Thank you!

These trays usually have a spring loaded lift and I have seen cases where the tray level indicator on the left front gets dislodged and prevents the tray from lifting properly.  Try filling the tray completely full to see if you get a few pages printed before the error. You may also want to perform a full reset on the device.

Thank you for your help.  I tried the method you suggested, it still gave me the same error.    Any other suggestions?  I may just give up, this is probably the shortest life of color laser printer I own.
