HP LaserJet Pro 500 MFP

Hello!  I'm having a problem where the printer cycles on with no print job present.  Unplugging the printer network cable solves the issue, so polling is coming from the network somewhere.  I'd like to review the printer syslog to determine most recent communication as my network is too large to systematically unplug network clients.

Much appreciated!

You can view the event log of the printer by logging into its Embedded Web Server.  If you are searching for print job auditing then you will have to rig up and force users to print through a print server first.  That or setup your own network trace and monitor the problem before and after the problem occurs.

It sounds like someone is sending a bad print job to the printer so you will need to isolate down what kinds of jobs are responsible for the behavior. Once you have it isolated down a little more then try steps to improve the communciation to the printer such as swapping print drivers to one of the UPDs or adjusting the print settings from the offending application.
