HP LaserJet Pro MFP M426fdn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an issue with a Laser Jet Pro MFP M426fdn printer.

It will not print from Tray 2, as a start, it ALWAYS asks for paper to be put in Tray 1, which is a labels by-pass tray.

I've tried to change a number of things in the set up including re-setting and it will not change. I have used this printer for several years and it just started this a couple of weeks ago.

Please help with a suggestion.

Thanks

The most common issue with this is if Tray 2 is set for a paper size other than letter. From the control panel, print the configuration and confirm the paper size setting for tray 2. If is set for letter but the printer will not print from tray 2 then it is possible that the tray 2 paper sensor is broken, this is a known issue that can occur and requires replacement of the sensor flag assembly PN RM2-5375-000cn

How and where do I test the 'sensor flag assembly' PH RM2-5375-000cn to see if it is defective ??
